History of the Cupola Classic Cruise-Ins
The first annual Downtown Johnstown Cupola Classic Cruise-in was held on September 13, 2009 in Bigelow Park. There were 131 registered entries. Organizers of the event were members of the Promotions Committee for Downtown Johnstown, Inc. They were greatly assisted by local car afficionados Jim Downing and Bill Smith. Licking County Commissioner Doug Smith was the emcee of the event.
Our 2nd annual Cupola Classic Cruise-In was held on September 12, 2010 in Bigelow Park in the village of Johnstown, Ohio. There were over 200 registered entries. Gorgeous weather greeted the many participants and visitors to the car show. Once again, Downtown Johnstown, Inc. sponsored this event with much assistance from Jim Downing and Bill Smith.
The 3rd annual Cupola Classic Cruise-In held on September 11, 2011 in Bigelow Park in the Village of Johnstown, Ohio. The rain held off until about midway through the event. The judging had been completed, but, it was decided that due to strong winds that participants should begin to get their vehicles ready to leave for home. However, over the next few weeks, all winners were eventually tracked down by Jim Downing and given their trophies. Great job, Jim!
